On September 5, 2023, at the academic lyceum of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, “Rector's Hour” under the slogan "For a new life, for a new Uzbekistan!", which are dedicated to the thirty-second anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the beginning of the new 2023-2024 academic year, were held. First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Rector of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy S. Safoev, Honorary Consul of Finland in Uzbekistan A. Joraev, President of the Karelian University of Finland Petri Raivo, Rector of the International Northern University in Tashkent Sh. Mustafakulov, Finnish Saatu Saana's teachers Johanna Järvelainen and Emil Jantti attended at this event. At the event, S. Safoev congratulated the participants on the "Independence Day" and the beginning of the new academic year, speaking about the foreign policy of Uzbekistan, the growth of the economy, the role of youth in our society today and the important tasks facing them. At the meeting, Honorary Consul of Finland in Uzbekistan A. Joraev and President of the Karelian University of Finland Petri Raivo expressed their congratulations and wishes. The event featured performances prepared by students of academic lyceums.

Negotiations were also held between the rector of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy S. Safoev and the President of the University of Karelia Petri Raivo and agreements were reached on the development of cooperation in joint educational programs and the exchange of mutual experience.
