On October 8, 2024, a "Rector's Hour" event took place at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy with first-year students of the UWED Academic Lyceum. 

 

The First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the university rector, S. Safoyev, congratulated the first-year students on their acceptance into the Academic Lyceum in his speech. He outlined several tasks for them, including diligently acquiring modern knowledge and skills, enhancing their intellectual potential, and developing critical and creative thinking.

 

In accordance with the Constitutional law No. PQ-4910 dated December 3, 2020, by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan regarding “Measures to Improve the System for Selecting Gifted Youths and Activities of Academic Lyceums,” eight students who achieved excellent grades in all subjects during the 2023-2024 academic year, excelled in subject Olympiads, competitions, and sports events, and actively participated in community service were awarded the "Pride of Academic Lyceum" scholarship by the rector.

 

Additionally, to promote reading among students and to further enhance young people's interest in reading as well as their level of literacy, all first-year students were presented with books as a "Gift from the Rector."
