On November 18, 2024, a roundtable discussion titled «We Take Pride in the Flag of Our Nation» was held at the Academic Lyceum of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy with the participation of teachers and students to commemorate the day when the State Flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan was adopted.
The event featured presentations by Rahima Yusufalieva, head of the Department of International Law and Public Law at JIDU, and Zarina Isroilova, an associate professor in that department.
In her speech, R. Yusufalieva discussed the special role of state symbols in the development and stability of the country and society, highlighting the historical significance of the law «On the State Flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan», which was adopted during the extraordinary seventh session of the Supreme Council on November 18, 1991.
Z. Isroilova spoke about how the state flag embodies national unity and independence as a symbol that reflects each nation's dreams, hopes, and trust in their future. She emphasized that Uzbekistan's State Flag represents our national-historical traditions, our rich culture that dates back to ancient times, as well as our great virtues such as purity, innocence, goodness, wisdom, and loyalty.
During the event, students received detailed answers to their questions and enriched their knowledge about foundations of statehood in Uzbekistan.
