On 24 April 2026, the Academic Lyceum of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy hosted a scholarly and educational conference titled "The Jadid Legacy — National Identity." The event was devoted to studying and promoting the rich cultural and educational heritage left by the Jadid movement and its proponents.
Speakers and participants examined how the Jadid legacy can strengthen young people’s sense of national identity, reinforce historical memory, and cultivate respect for national values. The conference explored the contemporary relevance of Jadid thought and its potential to inform civic and cultural education today.
Leading experts delivered keynote presentations. Among them were Prof. Dilnoza Jamolova, Deputy Director for Research at the Institute of History, Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan; Prof. Fayzullo Ernazarov, Doctor of History and lecturer at the National Pedagogical University of Uzbekistan; and Yunusjon Safarov, junior researcher at the State Museum of the Victims of Repression under the Cabinet of Ministers. Their talks addressed the movement’s historical roots, its spiritual and educational legacy, and its place in modern society.
Participants highlighted the Jadids’ contributions to science, education, and social progress, noting their pivotal role in the national awakening. Discussions emphasized the need to nurture the younger generation in a spirit of patriotism, national pride, and fidelity to historical heritage.
The program also featured lyceum student performances: dramatic scenes and artistic presentations that illustrated the Jadid movement and its activities. Organizers concluded that regular scholarly-educational events are essential for deeper research into the Jadid legacy and for broader public engagement with this important chapter of national history.
